The Capital Get Down: Aftermath

Before I go any further, let me extend a big "Happy New Year" to you from Awesome Until Proven Guilty. Let's hope it rocks even more than 2006. February will mark our one year anniversary, so that's something to be proud of in this come-and-go blog world.

Saturday night proved to be one helluva dance party at The Capital. It took the crowd a little while to come out of their shells, but we managed to squeeze a surprising amount of life out of 'em. After a rocking cold open by Dan J, DJ Hawk delivered a set of funk gems, including several tracks by the late James Brown. I didn't take down the exact order of my set, but from memory, it looked something like this:
  • Ratatat - Seventeen Years
  • Hot Chip - Over And Over
  • Union of Knives - Evil Has Never (Album version)
  • LCD Soundsystem - Daft Punk Is Playing At My House
  • A/V - Ask Your Wife
  • The Stills - Still in Love Song (12" Extended Remix)
  • The Blood Brothers - Spit Shine Your Black Clouds
  • The Stranglers - Peaches
  • Tokyo Police Club - Be Good
  • The Faint - Desperate Guys
  • The Sounds - Tony The Beat
  • Bloc Party - Helicopter (Breakneck Mix)
  • The Cure - Close To Me
  • Ratatat - Wildcat (Evax Remix)
  • The Rapture - House of Jealous Lovers
  • Prince - Now
  • Munk - Kick Out The Chairs (Replayed by Who Made Who)
  • Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch
  • Metric - Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT Remix)
  • Billie Holiday - I'll Be Seeing You
We're hoping to do this again in a few months, so keep your eyes peeled!
