We Were In Awe Before The Single Even Released

Oh boy oh boy, It is unlike me to post two things in one day but frick this one really cannot wait.

As we have all know for a little while Johnny Marr of the Smiths is now an official member of Modest Mouse (w00t) and they started streaming their first single off their new LP We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank three days ago.

Most anyone can agree that Modest Mouse has had two distinct sounds over their career and a lot of "hardcore" fans didn't like their last release so much because it sounded too "popish". Well Mr. Brock says you don't know what you are talking about because this new single is even more dancy and popish than Float On, the first single off Good News for People Who Love Bad News.

The single is released to US radio on the 16th of January. This link is hosted by the Music Nazi

I think "Dashboard" has a good guitar riff/vibe throughout the song, bit it doesn't really take off. Overall, though, it's a decent song.

This new Modest Mouse is certainly one of the more controversial records to come out in a long while when it comes to fan reception.
